I really wish the app had Tag support. I also hope when this app is refreshed that it gets a UI design like Saver 2, which looks incredibly gorgeous. The background syncing could also be massively improved. I feel like I have to wait for it and its seemingly never-ending progress bar that doesnt any real progress visual feedback, because it only displays single items that its syncing instead of a progress bar that at 100% visually is DONE syncing. In Moneywell, tags is a big one, and should be on the iPhone and iPad clients, especially iPhone, as tagging items when youre out doing things is important to sort categories quickly (ie: Tax Writeoffs) instead of having to remember to do it when you get home which is really frustrating.

I did experience the bug that kept balances incorrect. I was hoping the newest update would fix it, but after opening the app after upgrade nothing was fixed. I did uninstall the app and reset my sync on my Mac. Finally, my balances were once again fixed. I wished that was indicated somewhere. I would have provided a higher rating if it had been.

A nice up, BUT it seems to reach the end of its “life”. No updates since December 2013 is far from encouraging. I really liked this app...

Great app but maybe its time to update

This app has much better sync than previous versions of MoneyWell. Also improved is the workflow of entering transactions. Note: There was a previous version of MoneyWell before MoneyWell Express came out to replace it. I am comparing it to that original app since this is a complete re-write but the same purpose by the same developer. Feature requests: 1) What I want to see in the future is ability to view spending plan, recurring transactions, reports, and more. 2) Also would be great to have additional functions from the Mac counter-part like assigning income to expense buckets, transferring bucket amounts, etc. Issues: 1) dollar amounts for buckets and accounts seem to load too slow, surely that can be improved, 2) there is a bug in this version which shows "yesterdays" transactions as "todays", and sometimes vice-versa, in the Activity view pane. Note: In regards to having to pay more for an app (IAP) when I already paid for the previous version for iOS... normally that wouldnt bug me if its a major version change, but this app doesnt bring much new to the table other than much improved Dropbox sync, so it feels like a quick cash grab. Not to mention that being a complete re-write makes it nicer but also a bit buggier again. Overall: I use this with MoneyWell on my Mac too. Its definitely good software and well worth it if you want envelope budgeting which is a proven method for budgeting. Alternatives to look at: MoneyWiz, YNAB, Money, and iBank.

They switched the sync option from wifi to dropbox to supposedly offer a better synchronization process, but most of my accounts will be out of sync in just a few days and the only option to fix it is to delete the app and start from scratch. Their support forum is close to useless. Dont waste your money

This is a fantastic app. Efficient and effective for syncing and a complementing app for the Mac version. The sync has always been my biggest issue with this software. Much improvement has been made but still only 95% consistent. Once they get it 100% Ill give five stars.

The sync with other devices was pretty shaky in earlier versions, but it has improved greatly along with all the other features. Just remember that this is a mobile transaction entry program for the desktop program and on-the-go bucket checker and keep your expectations in line with that idea.

The app is improving reliability wise in terms of sync. That was an achilles heel for this app on launch. Though I miss the standalone app that MoneyWell once was, I understand the developers decision to go with Express. MoneyWell is the smartest and best budgeting app for Mac and iPhone. The more popular ones dont compare. I would really like to see bucket budget control return sooner than later (the fundamental method of managing your money with this app), and support for tags like the Mac version. One thing I can say without a doubt is that the developers of MoneyWell have fantastic support and are going to be around to look after this app for a long time to come. Looking forward to the iPad version. One gripe is that the icon needs to change. Older versions were so much better, but I am sure that iOS 7 will force a rethink on presentation.

Theres a bit of a learning curve and it was a pain to get set up initially but now that I have it set up, I love it. Previously, I used two programs (Numbers and iBank) to keep track of my funds, now I do both with this program. I love that I can add purchases on my iPhone and the sync feature ensures that my computer is updated! Again, it was frustrating to start up but if you stick with it, once you get it, youll love it.

Fast, reliable and elegant. Love the iPad version as well. If you use MoneyWell on the Mac, then MoneyWell Express is a no-brainer.

I have the Mac client as well, which is great but this express doesnt cut it. The syncing is really bad. I frequently have to delete the app and sometimes even the Dropbox files.

As a Moneywell for Mac user, I enjoy using MoneyWell Express to enter all my receipts. My wife is doing the same on her iPhone so it makes my life easier when comes time to reconcile!

Setting up MW - so far so good. Set-up with no problems. It looks to me to be an excellent program. There is wholesale attention to detail in this App - which is very important in a financial application. I will give another review in about a month or two. I am using Mtn Lion with iPhone 6. Also using iBaxx to compare. So far I prefer MW. 5 stars so far. The philosophy of preventing regret budgeting compared to when its too late with other apps makes a lot of sense. Definitely the go-to app.

Used Moneywell 1.7 and companion app before. Find this one and Moneywell 2 more stable and intuitive. Used for 2 years with Mac app. No problems, great tool and reliable. Great customer support too. Highly recommend.

Its simple and useful app.. I can easily note my expenses and income.. But the app for Mac is a little difficult.. And its good that you can synchronize between them..

Issues appeared just at first database sync, which was too big disappointment.
